History of Easter

Easter is on of the the most important Christian liturgical year. Easter is not a fixed feast, which means in 2010 the Eater Monday is April 5th, in 2011 we will celebrate Easter on April 25th. The date depends on the Full Moon. The date of Easter may vary from March 22 to April 25.

If you are a woman, beware of brutal Slavic habits. The Czech men use Easter as an opportunity to beat women with a kind of stick (pomlázka)and we expect painted boiled eggs in exchange for this kind of behavior. Oficially, the beating helps woman to be healthy and devoted. In facts, it helps, as the average life expectancy is 8 years longer for women.
